Designed for and used on our own World Racing League endurance 328i, our E36/E46 Rear Lower Control Arm Reinforcement Kit is a great solution for track cars. Whether it's for rules reasons, or budget reasons and you must retain stock rear control arms, this is a great alternative to the aftermarket, high dollar control arms. The stock control arms, are commonly referred to as "salad tongs." If you've removed these parts, you know exaclty how flimsy these tong-shaped, stamped steel pieces are. Our kit substantially reinforces the arms without a lot of coin or adding much unsprung weight. 14 ga steel weighs 4.6 ounces each piece (9.2 ounces per side.)
 
Our reinforcement plates do require welding. Removal of the trailing arm (good time for new bushings) is suggested.
